In this article, Ill reflect on three conferences I attended in 2024 (apart from GrantSummit ) and offer several takeaways that aim to help grant consultants thrive. From these conferences, recurring themes emerged that resonated with me, including teamwork, clarity, scalability, and preventing burnout.
Lightning Fast Grant Writing

No ones giving away the good stuff in a casual Slack channel or over stale bagels at a conference. Thats a fast track to burnout. Too many grant writers waste their lives glued to pointless webinars, fumbling through endless newsletters, orworse of allattending meetings where program officers drone on like its their job to bore you.

When I felt noticeably more balanced after that transition, something told me to start researching burnout prevention. The important work happening across the nonprofit sector is too critical for us to risk burnout. I wanted to learn how we could structure work in way that took better care of our people in the long run.
