Ethics are moral principles that govern an individual’s or group’s behavior or activities. Within the grant profession, the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) has defined a clear code of ethics for members to abide by and establish boundaries within practice that uphold the integrity of the industry.

Certifications help uplift the profession by establishing a level of knowledge and ethical practices and acknowledging experience and expertise within an industry. Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) There are just over 300 CGMS professionals at the end of 2023; only five have also received their GPC, including two AGS staff.

Do you have the goal of obtaining your GPC TM soon? Grant professionals cannot successfully and ethically develop grant proposals and applications without learning “tricks of the trade.” Scholarships are also available for current GPCs renewing their credentials through the Certification Maintenance Program (CMP Renewal).
