Over the last 20+ years, I have been privileged to help hundreds of organizations receive significant grant funding. Many of these grant awards have been large federal grants that advanced an organization both in its mission and its overall capacity. Securing the grant itself is, of course, an achievement.

Secondly, I worked as a contractor on a federal grant and was the final staff left to close the grant/organization down as a result of the grant ending after three years. Finally, I left a job as a grant coordinator after I was there six months when I saw the “writing on the wall” that the grant would not be renewed.

Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) There are just over 300 CGMS professionals at the end of 2023; only five have also received their GPC, including two AGS staff. The application phase is often the focus of our work as grant professionals. There are 474 GPCs worldwide; including 19 AGS employees (and counting!)
