As much as I have gained from attending the GPA conference virtually (now called GrantSummit), I missed the opportunity to sit and chat with others from across the country and getting to know other grant professionals and understand what their business models might look like.

Secondly, I worked as a contractor on a federal grant and was the final staff left to close the grant/organization down as a result of the grant ending after three years. Finally, I left a job as a grant coordinator after I was there six months when I saw the “writing on the wall” that the grant would not be renewed.
