Typically, grant professionals learn on the job through trial and error, plus there are vast numbers of classes, webinars, and articles to read on writing grants. This is the boat I am in; I wrote grants for a decade before GPCI first offered certifications in 2008 (GPA of Lower Hudson, n.d.), There is no degree in grant writing.

GPCI administers the nationally recognized Grant Professional Certification (GPC) credential, which is highly regarded and well worth placing on your resume.
